Japanese bookstore seeks an Office Sales Clerk. (Full-time)

Job Title: Office Sales Clerk (Full-time)
Work hours: 5 days/week (Monday - Friday) X 8 working hours/day (9am -6pm, one hour unpaid lunch)
Language: Close to native Level Japanese & business level English
PC Skill & telephone communication skill MUST
Detail Oriented (must)
Hourly rate: $20 + DOE
Location: Torrance, CA

General Position Summary
This position handles inquiries and orders from wide range of customers not necessarily related to particular stores. Instead of the company’s physical stores, such customers purchase products from the company’s website, via fax/email/physical mail and/or over the phone. The Customer Service Specialist at Customer Service Center takes care of such customers. In addition, the position deals with inquiries and requests on the orders/business the caller has had with one of the company’s store, as well as handles such inquiries on behalf of the store. Timely oral and written communication with the Customer Service Center manager, other team members, and the stores clerks is very important for the successful operation. Further, the position may be required to perform some store operation duties.

OTHER & MISCELLANEOUS
 The position may be required to perform store operation duties such as operating a cashier register and store’s
opening and closing procedures.
 Maintains good oral as well as written communication with supervisors, other staff members and outside
contacts.
 Provides assistance to Customer Center Manager and/or Assistant Manager in interviewing by attending
interviews.
 Orders and maintains store and office supplies.
 Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
 May receive, sort and distribute daily email and physical mail to appropriate personnel.
 Inputs and processes data for purchases, expenses and invoices. Handles questions from vendors.
 Assists in accounting-related work including filing and organizing of documents.
 Seeks constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes.
 Maintains high ethical standards in the work place.
 Reports all irregular issues and problems to management for solution.
 Complies with all company policies and procedures.
 Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area.
